Clan Help Files for Eternal Chaos III
My aim is to have the complete information from the help files on the MUD for each command, available on the Internet. This will understandably take a little bit of time. I'm afraid that you'll just have to bear with me as I work on this task, and remember that this wouldn't be available at all if I wasn't working on it. Of course, this information is all already present on the MUD help files, and those files are the repository of all the correct information. If you find that anything I have written here is incorrect, could you please tell me immediately so that I may keep these pages up to date and correct.
P-Kill
Joining Pkill is a big choice in the development of your character. It allows you to join a clan. It also allows you to kill or be killed by other players. This allows for a wider range of interacting with players and the game. You are no longer limited to just killing or being killed by monsters.
Players that attempt to kill other players that are no match for them will be convicted as KILLERS. Players that choose to steal the posessions of other players will be convicted of being a THIEF. Players that join Pkill must adhere to the rules defined in HELP PKILL-RULES.
Clans
A Clan is a group of people that follow the same leader and ideal. Each clan has its own goals and agenda. Clans are essentially a way of "role playing". Clan members must follow the philosophy and rules of the clan which they join. They are under the supervision of the clan leader and/or deity of the clan.
Joining a clan denies you of the blessings given to you by Mota: recall and the donation pit. Once joined to a clan, you recall to the clan hall. Some trusted members have use of the clan donation pit. Other privileges such as clan healers and shops may be added (at a charge of some sort) by the clan's deity.
There are dueling clans, and all clan members will be expected to participate in any wars where the values of their clan are threatened.
Clanjoin
To join a clan you must:- Be at least 10th level
- Be willing to be P-Kill
- Be willing to follow the clan Philosophy
- Read and understand all the help files about clans.
Refusal to follow the clan's rules will put you into EXILE.
If you would like to join a clan, contact an immortal with the clan flag for more information.
Trust
Each clan member has a trust level: Trust levels give you certain privileges within each clan. Examples include using the donation pit, withdrawing clan funds, etc... You gain trust levels by being a good example of your clan philosophy and pleasing your deity. Each new member has a trust level of 1.
Jails and Surrender
When you are captured in combat by someone from another clan, you are put in jail. No access to fountains, no access to food, no ability to recall... Just what you have on you. The only way out of jail is if someone in the clan that caught you frees you for some reason or negotiation. Unfortunately, there are usually very few clan members who have the ability to free prisoners.
Capture, Release, Free
These three clan skills are part of the ability to CAPTURE, RELEASE (after negotiations), or FREE (when still imprisoned) prisoners caught in combat. CAPTURE only works in combat with someone of a different clan than your own. RELEASE is most often used after negotiations are made to release the prisoner(s) back to their own clan, though only someone within the clan that has captured said prisoner(s) can release you. FREE is used by any other clan member not associated with the clan that captured you, they use FREE, to free you from the prison you are in.
Syntax:- capture <character name>
- release <character name>
- free <character name>
Exile
Once you have joined a clan, you denounce the philosophies of all other clans. If you refuse to follow the rules of your clan, you will be removed from your clan and put into Exile. Exile from a clan is not only permanent banishment from your clan, but it brings with it punishment from the cityguards, and other adventurers. For those looking for an easy way out of a clan, look elsewhere. Many that have been exiled have never found a home amongst a new clan in their natural lifetime. Mota refuses to look upon those that have been Exiled, and therefore ignores their prayers for transportation. Mota, however, is not the only one that refuses to deal with Exiled people. Shopkeepers will not sell, or buy from an exiled person. Life in exile is unpleasant at best. You can be exiled from your clan by your leader, or an Immortal for violating your clan's philosophy, for breaking rules of your clan, or you may choose to be exiled if you no longer support your clan in scope, direction, or philosophy.
After being exiled from your clan, you may never join the clan again. Once you are exiled, the only way out is to pay your debt to society. To prove your worth to rejoin civilized man, you must pay the following:- 2000 gold per level (this is your current level, not the level you exiled at)
- 1 quest point per 5 levels (rounding up)
You may used diamonds to pay the unexile fee. This fee is non-negotiable. If you exile, the ONLY way out is to pay an imm the fee. At that point they will unexile you.
