AXIOM PHILOSOPHY

"All mortals are created equal."

Everything has a consequence, whether it be good or bad. As long as bad consequences exist, there must be someone to enforce them.

As opposed to many people's thoughts, those of us who enforce justice in Axiom are not blind. We are very sharp eyed to watch for those who break the Code of Justice, but Axiom does not discriminate as to who we practice justice on.

The Axiom clan relies on treating everyone equal. Everyone who breaks the Code of Justice, whether they be Axiom, a member of another clan, or no clan at all, will receive the same treatment. Axiom does not judge clans, Axiom judges people. If one does something to be punished for, it does not reflect on anyone else. However, if enough members of a single clan break the Code of Justice, we may wage war upon that clan. Axiom may also wage war to aid its allies.

Axiom judges those who kill or capture the innocent. These people will be put on our black list, which means only one thing: DEATH. Repeated offenders will receive more than just death, including items stolen from them, 'energy drain', or even imprisonment. All other offenders will be put on the gray list, especially those who steal the legitimate posessions of others. Repeated gray list offenders will be transferred to the black list as well. People who help Axiom will be put on the white list.

People on the black or gray lists will not receive any help from Axiom unless they are lucky enough to be allied with it. Axiom treats all other people with respect and will often help them out when in need. People on the white list receive extra help and protection.

While Axiom is a very strict clan, and focuses on promoting a better world, in our spare time, we relax. When not enforcing justice, we enjoy some relaxation, wherever we may find it, whether it is by killing mobs, hanging out with buddies, teasing newbies, or promoting the Axiom Philosophy.

To join Axiom one must be able to enforce justice and be willing to follow the Axiom Philosophy in every way.

CODE OF JUSTICE

The Code of Justice was written by Serenus, the God of Peace and Justice. He made The Code very simple, because he wants that all mortals understand and follow these laws.

Below is a copy of the Code of Justice.

Code of Justice

No pkilling or capturing unless as a punishment, in self-defense, to defend your honor, or to help another member of your clan or a member of a clan allied with yours for one of these reasons. Getting caught disobeying this law will get one put on the black list until that person is punished by the Sword of Justice.
No one may steal from other players or harass them in any other way, unless it is as punishment to them or to regain something previously stolen. Getting caught disobeying this law will get one put on the gray list for a varying amount of time.

Serenus

While Serenus gave this note with The Code to all mortals, he decided to give the Sword of Justice as well as the black and gray list to a single clan. The name of this clan is Axiom. That is why he changed the name of The Sword in 'Axiom Sword of Justice'.

AXIOM RANKS OF HONOR

The table below shows all clan levels and their ranks and functions.

All Axiom-members must put their Axiom-rank in their title. The format for an Axiom-rank is: [Rank] of (AXIOM). An Expositor, for example, has the following rank: [Expostitor] of (AXIOM). Elders must also put an [Elder] flag in their title.

You can gain a higher rank by gaining a clan level. To gain a clan level, you must gain 10 mission points (MPs) and complete a clan level quest. You can gain MPs by:

Bonuses: You can receive a MP-bonus for excellent role-playing, courage, promoting our Philosophy, helping other members or people on the white list, etc.
Special missions: The Leader can give you a special mission, and offer you a special MP-reward for completing it.
Clan quests: When you participate in a clan quest and win a prize, you will receive some MPs. How much depends on the quest and the prize.

You can also gain MPs by putting someone on the black or gray list or killing someone on the black list. The amount of MPs you receive depends on your function:

Executors receive 1 MP for putting someone on the black or gray list and 2 MPs for killing people on the black list.
Judges receive 2 MPs for putting people on the black or gray list and 1 MP for killing someone who is on the black list.
Elders (except the Premier) receive 1 MP for putting someone on the black or gray list and 1 MP for killing someone who is on the black list.

All members (except the Sovereign and the Premier) also receive 1 MP for putting someone on the white list. A player can be put on the white list for the following reasons:

reporting lawbreakers to Axiom;
helping Axiom-members to enforce justice;
helping Axiom-members in another way.

One can only put someone on a list after a vote is taken by all members of the clan present at the call to vote. But there is no vote required to put someone on the black or gray list for breaking a law towards an Axiom-member. On the other hand, you do not receive any MP for putting someone on the black or gray list for breaking a law towards yourself or another Axiom-member.

When you have gained 10 MPs you will receive an opportunity to reach the next rank. The procedure for this opportunity depends on your current clan level:

Levels 1, 3, 4 and 6 (gaining new ranks): The Leader or an Elder will give you a quest without time-restrictions. You will receive your next rank once you have completed this quest.
Levels 2 and 5 (gaining new functions): The Leader will give you a quest with time-restrictions. You will receive your next rank and function if you complete this quest within the time-limit. Else you will lose 5 MPs.
Level 7 (overthrowing the Premier): There can be only one Premier. He/she cannot gain MPs. When a Minister has gained 10 MPs, the clan will vote on a new Premier. The candidates for this rank are the Premier and the Minister with 10 MPs. If the Minister is chosen to replace the Premier, the Premier will lose his rank and become Minister. Else the Minister will lose 10 MPs.
Level 1-8 (overthrowing the Sovereign): There can be only one Sovereign. He/she cannot gain MPs. When at least 50% of the Axiom-members want to vote on a new Sovereign, they must write a note with their names to Axiom. Then all Axiom-members will vote on a new Sovereign. All members can vote on any other member. It is possible to hand in a blank vote, but it is not possible to vote for yourself. If there will be a new Sovereign after this election, the old Sovereign will become Minister.

In the event of the clan having no Sovereign, Axiom will use the same procedure to choose one.

AXIOM CODE OF HONOR

Axiom-members try to improve the world. We try to be an example for others by being honorable. That is why there are some things we like to do and some things we avoid to do. All Axiom-members:

Always have an Axiom-related bio and a description to promote their clan and themselves.
Avoid as much contact as possible with those on the black and gray list. This includes helping them or receiving help from them. This rule is no longer valid during a clan war towards members of a clan allied with Axiom.
Do not use capture, nor 'energy drain', nor loot corpses, unless someone is member of a clan at war with Axiom or on the black list after repeatedly breaking the Code of Justice.
Do not steal from a player unless he/she is on the black list or to regain something stolen.
Put on the gray list will lose a clan level.
Put on the black list will be exiled.

Axiom will always promote the Code of Justice, but under certain conditions we will not enforce it:

During times of war, it is possible for members of a clan allied with Axiom to break The Code towards an enemy without punishment.
All Immortal Beings, being of a higher plane than us, are exempt from The Code.

Axiom also has some procedures to run our clan in a more organized way. We have procedures for:

Voting: The votes of Executors count once, those of Judges count twice, and those of Elders and the Leader count 3 times. However, the Leader's vote counts 4 times when the result of a vote is 50%-50%. This procedure applies to all issues Axiom votes on.
Clan levels: The procedures for clan levels are described in the file on Axiom Ranks of Honor.
Joining Axiom: This procedure is described in the file on Joining Axiom.

Axiom stresses role-playing. The described rules are intended to guarantee a minimal level of role-playing. On the other hand, role-playing cannot be enforced by just some rules. That is why there is an outline for each function:

Executors focus on enforcing justice and assisting the other functions.
Judges focus on putting people on the lists and supervising Executors. They also assist the Elders and the Leader.
Elders focus on clan politics, supervising Judges and Executors, and judging the policy of the Leader. They assist the Leader to enforce his/her policy. All Elders together are called the Council of Elders. The Premier leads The Council and communicates with the Leader.
The Leader focuses on joining new members, changing Clan levels, the politics between Axiom and other clans, and supervising the other functions. However, he/she cannot declare war to another clan or sign an alliance with another clan before The Council agrees.

When the Council of Elders votes, the votes of Counsellors count once, those of Ministers count twice, and the Premier's vote counts 3 times. However, the Premier's vote counts 4 times when the result of a vote is 50%-50%. This procedure applies to all issues The Council votes on.

JOINING AXIOM

Before you can join us you must:

be at least level 20;
join pkill. (See 'help pkill' if you want to join pkill.)

When you come up to this requirements you can tell us that you like to join us by a note to Axiom. Then we will check if you:

know our help files;
are willing to follow our Philosophy in every way.

When we are sure that you match this criteria and think that you are able to enforce justice, you must do the following to join us:

write a description (if you not already have one);
complete a joining quest.
write an Axiom-related bio, at least 8 lines;

After you completed this part you will receive the membership of Axiom, the Axiom-rank [Sentry] of (AXIOM), 5 mission points, and the Axiom Sword of Justice.
