Passaris Picture Puzzles

Each puzzle consists of a single square that is constructed from smaller black and white squares. The challenge is to reconstruct the pattern in as few moves as possible, abiding by the following rules:

• You start with a blank white square.
• One move consists of drawing a single square of any size within the confines of the puzzle.
• All colour in the area contained by the square you have drawn is inverted: white becomes black, and black becomes white.

Here is an example of how they work, showing a simple two-move puzzle:
