Son of Uranus and Gaea, Iapetus was one of the Titans. By Clymene, he was the father of Atlas, Prometheus, Epimetheus, and Menoetius. His decendants are often called Iapetidae, Iapetionidae, and Iapetionis.
Iapetus was imprisoned in Tartarus together with Cronus.
