Food Fright

I likes a bit of fun photography. I also likes a challenge to the old noggin. So what better, I ask you, than photos that mentally manipulate your imagination? In the style of Ruth Brown's divine tome If At First You Do Not See, here are pictures of foodstuffs that have the likeness of something altogether different. Our brains are very good at pattern recognition, in particular at distinguishing faces, and so because of this we tend to see faces more than anything else, where the image is imagined. What do you see here?

Screaming Red Peppers

Screaming Red Peppers

An accidental appearance of toothsome maws greeted me, one day whilst chopping veggies. Before consuming them, I just had to immortalise the moment. One of those rare moments of perfection that I have actually captured.

Evil Egg Clown

Unfortunately I didn't have a camera handy, whilst eating this particular Scotch egg. For shame, I say, because I don't know if I can reproduce what I saw there. The partly eaten egg, combined with the cutlery on my plate, formed the epitome of the evil clown face. I shudder to think of it even now. One day I may experiment again, but until then, you must content yourself with but the one piccie to this page.
